Hello,

When I modify a campaign, it’s impossible to add a test in the current campaign, even if there is no campaign session under this campaign.

In the content (Contenu) tab, check box at the end of the test line is ineffective (see attached screen).

is it normal or a bug ?

Regards,
Blandine

PS : your product is very interesting

Hi Blandine,
Well this is actually normal. My assumption is that when you create a campaign, you know exactly which tests to include in it. After the creation of the campaign, you can only add sessions and configure them for execution. This is to prevent situations where several sessions of the same campaign does not include exactly the same tests. Of course, I could test if no session exist and then authorize the edition but I have the feeling that it would be confusing for the users...
Does it make sense to you?
Thanks,

Hi Eric,

"My assumption is that when you create a campaign, you know exactly which tests to include in it"

Yes, I agree with you, but only in the best of the worlds, it’s more rarely in the reality of a project. It is practical to add test in a campaign especially during the development or to integrate evolutions.
Of more, the duplication of a campaign is not available. It can become boring when you are a lot of tests.

"This is to prevent situations where several sessions of the same campaign does not include exactly the same tests"

It does not seem to me so important, because the results of session execution are saved.
At present, the test can be different between 2 sessions, because you can modify, add or suppress test case.

Blandine

well... all this makes sense but I still don't like the idea to have several session of a same campaign including different set of tests. Even if you made a good point on the fact that tests themselves can change anyway (by adding, modifying or removing testcases)...

Maybe a way to easily copy a campaign would be a nice alternative?

Yes, I think so. The copy of a campaign has to allow the adding of tests.

Agreed.
I'll add it to my TODO list.
Thanks,
